KABUL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate in a statement praised a number of the world countries’ condolence message over the deadly and devastating flash floods in the country.
As a result of deadly and devastating flash floods in some provinces of the country, especially in the northern province of Baghlan, dozens of people lost their lives, thousands of residential houses were washed out and hundreds of livestock have perished, said the statement, and expressed its appreciation for the sympathy and solidarity shown by countries in the region, world, and international organizations.
According to the statement, the countries of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, India, Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Japan, Egypt, South African countries, the United States, the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the European Union have all expressed their sympathy and condolences to the people and government of Afghanistan.
The statement notes that the sentiment expressed by the leaders of these various countries towards the people of Afghanistan is commendable.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in accordance with the available resources, has begun its efforts to attract assistance for the flood-affected areas of the country.
