KABUL: The Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking in a press conference, said on Thursday that a delegation from Russia will visit Afghanistan in the near future to meet with the officials of the Islamic Emirate.
The Russian state-run TASS news agency quoted Putin as saying that the Islamic Emirate is a power in Afghanistan that controls the country, and we must establish relations with it.
“We have always believed that we must deal with the realities, and it is a reality that the Islamic Emirate has sovereignty in Afghanistan,” he said.
Last week, the Russian President also said during his visit to Kazakhstan that the Islamic Emirate has sovereignty over Afghanistan, and the establishment of relations with them [IEA] is a necessity.
It is worth mentioning that the Moscow format meeting on Afghanistan with the participation of the Russian representative in Iran will be held in the next two days.
