Uzbekistan to provide 50 scholarships for Afghan youth

KABUL: The Uzbekistan ambassador to Kabul Yadgarkhoja Shadmanov, in a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Lutfullah Khairkhwa, said that his country will provide 50 education scholarships for Afghan youth, the Ministry of Higher Education said in a statement.

The Uzbek ambassador assured his country’s readiness to expand scientific cooperation with Afghanistan, said the statement.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education assured to address the problems of Afghan students in Uzbekistan, providing scholarships, and bilateral scientific cooperation.

Khairkhwa, while appreciating Uzbekistan’s assistance in the educational field with Afghanistan, emphasized the shared religious, cultural, and linguistic ties in the bilateral educational cooperation.

Currently, 43 Afghan students are pursuing higher education in Uzbekistan.
