KABUL: To establish direct relations, the government of Nicaragua, for the first time, had appointed a non-resident ambassador to Kabul, officials of that country confirmed on Saturday.
Michael Campbell, Nicaragua’s ambassador residing in China, will now serve as the country’s non-resident ambassador in Kabul and will be responsible for the affairs of the Nicaragua embassy.
Rosario Murillo, the Vice President of Nicaragua, has expressed gratitude to the Islamic Emirate and the people of Afghanistan for their cooperation and for providing the opportunity to Mr. Campbell.
Nicaragua is a country located in Central America, the country has not had any diplomatic relations with Afghanistan until now.
