KABUL: The Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce Nooruddin Azizi, during his stay in Tashkent the capital of Uzbekistan, in a meeting with Jamshid Khodjaev, the Deputy Prime Minister of that country, discussed various trade issues, the ministry said in a statement.
According to the statement, the meeting was also participated by the ministers of investment, industry and commerce, energy, transport, mines and petroleum, water resources, and customs officials of Uzbekistan.
In the meeting, discussions were held regarding the expansion of trade and transit relations, balancing the trade between the two countries through preferential trade agreements in favor of Afghanistan, signing transit trade agreements, finalizing a quarantine memorandum of understanding between the two countries, cooperation in the railway sector, and in the Surkhan-Pul-e-Khumri power line, said the statement.
The two sides also agreed on the establishment of a trade house between the two countries.
