Plan to produce 100 megawatts of gas-fired electricity discussed

KABUL: Chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, a meeting was held to discuss the production of 100 Megawatts of Gas-Fired Power, Deputy PM Office said in a statement today.
According to the statement, in the meeting, the proposal for the generation of 100 megawatts of gas power by Gulbahar Power Private Company has been discussed.
The meeting, assigned the Technical Committee comprising representatives from the Ministries of Water and Energy, Mines and Petroleum, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, the Independent Directorate of State-Owned Corporations, and Gulbahar Power to conduct technical assessment and discussions regarding the proposed proposal and share the result to the office of the deputy PM for economic affairs for approval, the statement said.
According to the proposal, Gulbahar Power Private Company will first produce 100 megawatts of gas power, gradually increasing production to 700 megawatts.
