KANDAHAR: The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Esteemed Amir al-Mu’minin Shaikh al-Hadith Mawlavi Hibatullah Akhundzada, in a message expressed sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims of the devastating storms and floods in Nangarhar, IEA spokesman said in a statement on Monday night.
As a result of devastating storms and flash floods more than 250 people were martyred and injured in Nangarhar province.
“Expressing sympathy with the families of affected, the Supreme Leader wished paradise to martyred and urgent recovery for wounds,” said the message as quoted by Mujahid.
He [Supreme Leader] tasked various Emirati institutions by traveling to the affected areas to transport the dead bodies and the injured.
He also ordered that food, shelter, and medicine be provided to the affected families of this natural disaster.
As a result of the storms and heavy rains, which started yesterday afternoon, in the center and districts of Nangarhar province, 35 people were killed and 230 others were injured, as well as 400 residential houses were destroyed and the figures may increase.
