KABUL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Friday that Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, has accepted the credentials of Fazl Mohammad Saber, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Afghan Embassy to this country.
“Afghanistan and Turkmenistan have plans to implement large projects, and therefore the expansion of diplomatic relations is important,” the statement quoted him as saying.
He expressed hope that through bilateral diplomatic efforts, we will be able to start the practical implementation of large projects, said the statement.
He spoke about the start of projects such as the TAPI gas pipeline and electricity transmission line, as well as the Herat-Torghundi railway line, as a result of these efforts.
Since the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate Turkmenistan and Afghanistan’s diplomatic, economic, trade and transit relations have unprecedentedly increased.
