KABUL: The Acting Minister of Public Health Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, discussed various health issues, in a meeting with Dr. Edwin Ceniza Salvador, the new Director of the World Health Organization and Head of Mission to Afghanistan, the ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
In the meeting, the two sides discussed various important issues including health system development, delivering health services to remote areas, fighting infectious diseases, and polio laboratory activities in Afghanistan, the statement said.
According to the statement, Dr. Edwin Ceniza Salvador emphasized for further coordination between WHO and the health ministry.
He also assured his commitment to expand further cooperation and better coordination with the Afghanistan Public Health Ministry in the development of the health system.
