KABUL: The Ministry of National Defense said in a statement that members of the Islamic National Army of the country have provided emergency assistance to hundreds of flood-affected and stranded families in Nangarhar province.
According to the statement, the members of the 4th Battalion of the 3rd Abdullah bin Masoud Brigade, based on the guidance of the leadership of the 201st Khalid bin Walid Army Corps, rushed to the area to assist hundreds of families in the districts of Khogyani, Surkhrod, and parts of the Jalalabad city and rescued hundreds of people stranded in the floods.
According to the statement, the Islamic National Army of the country has prevented further damage by using engineering vehicles in some areas to stop the floods.
This comes as about 10 provinces have witnessed flash floods in the last three days.
