KABUL: Da Afghanistan Bank, the country’s Central Bank, said in a statement that today [Monday, 26 August 2024] 15 million U.S. dollars is going to be auctioned to maintain and stabilize the value of the Afghani currency.
The DAB asked eligible bank exchangers and money service companies to participate in this tender and said that the winners of the auction are obliged to clear their accounts by the end of the auction day.
“Partial settlement of transactions is not allowed in currency auction bids.
The winners of the tender are obliged to deliver the money owed to Da Afghanistan Bank in cash once within a certain period,” the statement said.
The bank has previously sold millions of dollars through similar auctions to maintain and stabilize the value of the Afghani currency.
