KABUL: The meeting of the Technical Committee of the Economic Commission was held to discuss operations and challenges of cargo and postal service, the office of Deputy PM for Economic Affairs said in a statement on Tuesday.
It was decided in the meeting that cargo companies are obligated not to transport items weighing less than 46 kilograms under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the statement said, adding that the failure to adhere to the weight limit will result in legal action by the ministry.
Postal service providers were also instructed that, under the supervision of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, they are not allowed to transport items weighing more than 46 kilograms.
According to the statement, a joint committee, including representatives from the office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, was tasked with drafting the Postal Services Law under the supervision of the Ministry of Justice.
The law will be processed through the Economic Commission and presented for approval to the leadership of the Islamic Emirate.
