Construction work on development project kicks off in Maidan Wardak

MAIDAN SHAHR: Construction work on a retaining wall worth $100,000 has been kicked off in Maidan Wardak province, the governor’s press office said in a statement today.

The project, with the financial support of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), will be built in Deh Hayat village, Nirkh district of Maidan Wardak province.

The retaining wall, with 170 meters long and 4 meters wide, will be constructed within three months, said the statement, adding the aim behind the construction of the wall is to prevent flooding and protect public and private assets from the dangers posed by flash floods.
