KABUL: Construction work on 9 check dams worth 26,500,000 Afghani (some 381,388 U.S. dollars) has been completed and inaugurated in Balkh province, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development said in a statement on Tuesday.
The check dams were constructed in relevant areas of Alberz, Chamtal, Sholgara, and Kishinda districts of the province, according to the statement.
The check dams as a capacity of restoring 36,950 cubic meters of water, said the statement adding during the implementation of the project hundreds of people were provided with job opportunities.
