KABUL: The Ministry of Industry and Commerce officials said that in the first five months of this year, marble stones worth 6.1 million U.S. dollars have been exported to the world markets.
The Afghanistan Marble Exporters’ Association says that the country has become self-sufficient in terms of marble, and the interest in the international markets for Afghanistan’s marble has been increasing in the last three years.
A few months ago, 1,100 metric tons of precious stones were exported to Turkey through Roznik Railway.
