KABUL: As a result of an explosion near oil tanker in Karachi, two Chinese nationals were killed, and ten others were injured, Pakistani media reported.
The explosion happened on Sunday evening, near Karachi’s airport.
Airport employees in Karachi stated that the explosion was so powerful that it shook the internal structures of the airport.
Meanwhile, Express Tribune, a Pakistani media outlet, reported that the separatist armed group, Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed the explosion was an attack carried out by them using a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device targeting “a high-level convoy of Chinese engineers and investors” coming from Karachi’s airport.
Meanwhile, the Interior Minister of Sindh province also confirmed that the explosion targeted a vehicle carrying foreign nationals.
The Chinese embassy in Pakistan has also issued a statement confirming the explosion and called it a terrorist act.
