KABUL: The Russian and Chinese forces launched joint military naval exercises in the Pacific Ocean, the Russian state media, citing the country’s Ministry of Defense, has reported.
The purpose of the maneuvers was to enable the warships of both countries to counter submarines effectively.
“The warships from Moscow and Beijing tested their anti-submarine defense systems during the drills,” said the statement.
The exercise was participated by Russia’s Admiral Pantileev and Admiral Tributs, as well as China’s Shining and Wushi ships.
China and Russia are key members of the United Nations Security Council and maintain a strategic relationship with one another.
