Kyrgyz, Uzbek companies seeking investment in Afghanistan’s energy sector

KABUL: A number of representatives of the Uzbek and Kyrgyz firms, in a meeting with the acting Minister of Water and Energy Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour, said Sunday that they are ready to invest in energy-generating projects in Afghanistan, according to a statement from the ministry.
Abu Bakur, head of Sadaf Company from Kyrgyzstan, and Murad, head of MGCC Company from Uzbekistan, said that they are interested in investing in power generation projects in Afghanistan, said the statement.
Praising their interest in investing in the country’s energy sector, Mullah Mansour assured them of the necessary cooperation and facilities.
He said that after the resumption of power by the Islamic Emirate a suitable investment environment has been provided in Afghanistan and every domestic and foreign investor can invest in the country’s various sectors.
