KABUL: A new case of polio has been reported in Balochistan, bringing the total number of confirmed polio cases in the province to 17.
According to the reports, since the beginning of the year 2024, a total of 33 polio cases have been recorded across Islamabad, Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.
Health officials say that there is no cure for polio, but the administration of two drops of the polio vaccine can protect children under 5 years from permanent disability.
