MAZAR-E-SHARIF: The construction work of an inter-provincial bus terminal worth 46.2 million Afghanis (some 682,120 U.S. dollars) began in Mazar-e-Sharif, the Balkh provincial press office said in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Balkh’s deputy governor Mawlavi Noor-ul Hadi Abu Edress, laid the foundation stone of the terminal at the two-way intersection in Hairatan, Balkh province.
The terminal will be built in 1,000 jeribs (approximately 2,000 acres) of land to regulate the loading and transit processes of freight vehicles between provinces.
The project includes the construction of a mosque with a capacity for 1,500 worshippers, 20 ablution facilities across two floors, and a surrounding wall.
