KANDAHAR: The provincial Information and Culture Department of the Kandahar province said in a statement on Friday that 9,500 tons of onions worth 2 million U.S. dollars have been exported from the province to the world markets in the past two months
According to the statement, the Deputy of the Kandahar Chamber of Commerce and Investment, Abdul Baqi Bina, said to increase the level of agricultural exports from the province to foreign markets, onions have been exported from the province to India and Pakistan in the past two months.
He assured that they were trying to find more markets for Kandahar’s products.
He further said that onions have been cultivated on 1,900 hectares of farmland in the province, and based on their estimates, 68,000 tons of onions will be harvested.
