HERAT: A five-day calligraphy exhibition under the theme of “Hadith-e-Dost” during a ceremony was launched on Tuesday by the Calligraphers Association of Herat province.
The Deputy Publication Information and Culture Minister and the Deputy Governor of Herat Mawlavi Hayatullah Muhajer Farahi, visiting the exhibition said that the ministry is focused on preserving noble Islamic arts in the country.
Jalil Ahmad Tawana, the head of the Calligraphers Association of Herat, said that the purpose of the exhibition is to keep Islamic calligraphy and the works of local calligraphers alive.
He mentioned that the exhibition features 49 pieces of various calligraphic styles, particularly Nastaliq, Shakasta Nastaliq, and early Kufic script
