KABUL: The Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, in a meeting with China’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan, Yue Xiaoyong, the Chinese Ambassador to Kabul, Zhao Xing, and their accompanying delegation, discussed expansion of bilateral relations, here in Kabul.
In the meeting, the Chinese Special Envoy provided details about his recent visit to Pakistan, underscoring China’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Afghanistan’s economy and bilateral relations and cooperation, according to a statement from Arg on Saturday.
He affirmed China’s support for Afghanistan’s position in international forums and expressed China’s readiness to further expand and enhance its relations with Afghanistan.
Yue commended Afghanistan’s progress over the past three years and stressed the significance of fostering improved relations and mutual understanding among Afghanistan, Pakistan, and China, the statement said.
“China respects Afghanistan’s territorial integrity, cultural values, and sovereignty and is committed to contributing to Afghanistan’s economic development through increased investment initiatives,” the statement quoted him as saying.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Mawlavi Abdul Kabir conveyed his gratitude to the Chinese Special Envoy, acknowledging the strong bilateral relations between Afghanistan and China, particularly in increasing trade and economic cooperation.
He assured that the Islamic Emirate has consistently guaranteed its neighbors and the international community that Afghanistan poses no threat to any nation and has upheld this assurance over the past three years.
“Afghanistan has recently emerged from prolonged conflicts and is working towards the renewal of its national economy and the expansion of regional cooperation,” the statement quoted him as saying.
Mawlavi Kabir stressed the critical importance of regional cooperation for achieving stability in the region and affirmed Afghanistan’s ongoing efforts toward attaining economic stability.
