KABUL: The Chinese Special Envoy for Afghanistan, Yue Xiayong, has said that the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, will participate in the upcoming meeting of foreign ministers of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, the deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the Chinese envoy in a meeting with the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, here in his office, invited him to the meeting.
Yue has positively assessed the developments in the relationship between Afghanistan and China, emphasizing that Beijing respects the values and choices of the Afghan people.
The Acting Foreign Minister also evaluated the relations between Kabul and Beijing positively and praised the progress made in trade between the two countries.
The meeting of the foreign ministers of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries is an annual process that has been held in recent years. It’s unclear which country will host the upcoming meeting and which specific issues will be discussed.
