Strategic Studies Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs assessed Kabul-Moscow relations

KABUL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate announced that following the visit of a high-level Russian delegation to Afghanistan, its Strategic Studies Center held a scientific discussion on the relations between Kabul and Moscow.

According to a statement from the ministry, the academic discussion titled “Current and Historical Relations between Kabul and Moscow; Progress and Future Path.”

Dr. Zakir Jalali, the 3rd Political Deputy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, evaluated the relationship between Kabul and Moscow across three phases: the first period of Islamic Emirate rule, the 20-year occupation, and the past three years.

Dr. Jalali said that the Kabul-Moscow relations are progressing and described the recent visit of the high-level Russian delegation to Afghanistan as a sign of positive change.

He expressed hope that following this visit and the removal of the Islamic Emirate from Russia’s list of banned groups, the ground for enhancing relations between Kabul and Moscow in various sectors, including the economy, would be further established.
