KABUL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in a statement on Sunday congratulated the Syrian people on the end of conflicts and the leadership of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham over Syria and its capital, Damascus.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed hope that the remaining factions of the revolution in Syria would be managed in a way that leads to the establishment of a secure, united, and stable system in the country.
The statement also conveyed hopes for a smooth transition of power that fulfills the aspirations of the Syrian people by laying the foundation for a service-oriented and free system.
“The leaders of the Syrian revolution should unite the entire Syrian nation without considering any differences and adopt a positive policy to rescue the country from negative global rivalries,” the statement said.
It has been said that the Syrian president has fled, but it is not clear where he sought refuge.
