KABUL: The Ministry of Public Health said in a statement on Monday that it plans to construct 318 hospitals at the district level throughout Afghanistan.
According to the statement, Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, the Acting Minister of Public Health, has instructed the follow-up on the construction of these hospitals during the ninth session of the executive board of the ministry.
However, details regarding the funding source for the hospital construction and the capacity of these facilities have not been disclosed.
Meanwhile, Hikmatullah Shamim, the spokesperson for the Parwan governor, stated in an interview with Radio Omid that a 10-bed hospital is planned to be constructed for each district in the province.
The Ministry of Public Health seeks to standardize healthcare services even in the most remote areas of the country following the establishment of the Islamic Emirate.
