Russian parliament votes to remove Islamic Emirate from list of banned groups

KABUL: The members of the Russian Parliament have voted on a bill that would allow the government to remove the Islamic Emirate from its list of banned organizations, Reuters reported on Tuesday.
Ratification of this bill marks another step toward the recognition of the Islamic Emirate by Russia.
Following the reading of the bill, which proposed the removal of the Islamic Emirate from the banned list, Russian lawmakers promptly approved it.
This legislative action comes after President Vladimir Putin declared in July of this year that the Islamic Emirate is committed to combating terrorism, signaling a shift in Russia’s stance.
Relations between the Islamic Emirate and Russia have been strengthening day by day.
