Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar and EU condemn assassination of Mawlavi Khalil-ur-Rahman Haqqani

KABUL: The attack and assassination of Khalil-ur-Rahman Haqqani, the Acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriations of the Islamic Emirate, sparked various reactions and condemnation by world countries including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar, and the European Union.

The Foreign Ministry of Saudi Arabia and the embassies of Turkey, Qatar, and the EU in Afghanistan in separate statements this morning, condemned the attack.

The European Union stated that it condemns the tragic attack on the acting minister and several others.

Meanwhile, the Turkish embassy in Kabul also released a statement condemning the attack on Khalil-ur-Rahman Haqqani.

The Foreign Ministry of Qatar, in a statement, condemned the attack on Afghanistan’s acting Minister of Refugees.

The Saudi Arabian embassy in Afghanistan expressed support for the Afghan people against terrorism in its reaction to the incident.

The attack on a member of the Islamic Emirate’s cabinet continues to draw worldwide condemnation.
