KABUL: After a 13-year delay, Qatar has officially announced the reopening of its embassy in Damascus.
This comes shortly after Turkey declared the reopening of its own embassy in the Syrian capital, after a 12-year delay.
In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the country is reopening its embassy in the brotherly nation of Syria. Following the collapse of the Assad regime, many countries have shown interest in re-establishing diplomatic relations with Syria.
