Perpetrator of attack that killed Russian general in Moscow detained

KABUL: The suspect and perpetrator of the bombing and assassination of Russian senior military general Igor Kirillov, has been arrested, some media outlets, citing the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), reported today on Wednesday.

The FSB stated that the individual, who targeted the commander of Russia’s nuclear and chemical forces, is a citizen of Uzbekistan and was allegedly working for Ukraine.

So far, no further details have been released regarding the arrested individual.

Previously, the Russian Foreign Ministry accused the West of being involved in the assassination of Igor Kirilov, calling the incident as a terrorist act. General Igor Kirilov, the chief commander of Russia’s nuclear and chemical forces, was killed in a remotely controlled explosion in Moscow.
