KABUL: Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat, the deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, has strongly rejected the claims of U.S. officials regarding the provision of “millions or billions” of dollars in aid to Afghanistan over the past three years, deeming them false.
In a statement on Wednesday, he stated that the U.S. has not only failed to provide even a single dollar to Afghanistan but has also seized and frozen billions of dollars belonging to the Afghan people.
He emphasized that the Islamic Emirate neither expects nor requests aid.
“The funds mentioned by the U.S. were either spent during the withdrawal of its forces from Afghanistan or used for the evacuation of Afghans,” said the statement, urging the U.S. to cease such expenditures, as they are not beneficial for the people of Afghanistan.
Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat stressed that such statements are made as propaganda against the Islamic Emirate.
Recently, some U.S. officials, including Donald Trump, have claimed to have provided billions in aid to Afghanistan.
