KABUL: Nooruddin Azizi, the Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, has emphasized the need for a joint roadmap between Afghanistan and Iran to enhance trade exchanges.
Minister Azizi made the remarks during a meeting with Alireza Bekdeli, the Iranian ambassador to Kabul, highlighting the importance of trade between the two countries, according to a statement from the ministry on Sunday.
“Iran’s government prioritizes relations with neighboring countries,” the statement quoted the ambassador as saying.
In the meeting, the two sides discussed increasing trade transactions, expanding economic and commercial relations, signing the roadmap, building trust for investment in Afghanistan, reducing transit costs, connecting Chabahar to the railway, customs tariffs, and banking, said the statement.
