Mawlavi Muttaqi and Iran ambassador discuss various regional issues

KABUL: The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Alireza Bekdeli, met with Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, here in Kabul.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations, high-level visits, economic cooperation, and various regional issues, the ministry said in a statement.

At the onset, the Acting Foreign Minister emphasized the need for both countries to pave the way for practical advancements in their bilateral relations.

Mawlavi Muttaqi highlighted that the operation and capacity enhancement of the Chabahar port could serve as a prime example of mutual benefits for both nations and the entire region.

The Iranian ambassador provided comprehensive information regarding his meetings with relevant authorities in Tehran concerning Afghanistan and stressed that agreements made in the economic sector between the two countries would be implemented.

He also affirmed Iran’s commitment to progress and practical cooperation with Afghanistan in various sectors.
