Saudi Foreign Minister discusses bilateral relations with his Iranian counterpart

KABUL: Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, met with Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, in Riyadh, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday night.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Islamic Foreign Ministers’ conference in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where bilateral relations between Tehran and Riyadh were discussed.

The foreign ministers emphasized the commitment of both countries to advance the joint goals set by their leaders to enhance relations.

“The two sides also reviewed the latest regional and international developments, underscoring the necessity for the Islamic world to address challenges, particularly regarding occupied Palestine and the prevention of plots to erase Palestine through the forced displacement of Gaza’s population,” said the statement.

This comes as Islamic countries have adopted a common stance against the forced expulsion of Palestinians from their lands.
