KABUL: Afghanistan National Statistics and Information Authority (NISA) states that since the beginning of distribution process of electronic ID cards (E-Tazkira), over 12 million and 288 thousand IDs have been distributed.
The authority said in a statement on Sunday that since the takeover of the country by the Islamic Emirate over 6 million and 200 thousand individuals have received electronic ID cards.
“Among the 12 million recipients of electronic ID cards, 7 million 108 thousand are men and 5 million 180 thousand are women,” said the statement.
Kabul, Herat, Nangarhar, Balkh, and Kandahar are among the provinces where the highest number of electronic Tazkiras have been distributed.
The National Statistics and Information Authority stated that, facilities provided in the distribution processes of electronic ID cards.
The distribution of electronic ID cards in recent years has started in order to digitize citizens’ information according to global standards and is still continuing.
