KABUL: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, stated during a meeting with Zamir Kabulov, Russia’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, that a new diplomat from the Islamic Emirate will soon begin his role as ambassador in Moscow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a statement from the ministry on Wednesday, Minister Muttaqi expressed gratitude for Moscow’s decision to remove the Islamic Emirate from Russia’s list of prohibited groups and praised the country\u2019s acceptance of the Emirate\u2019s diplomat as ambassador.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also, the two sides discussed enhancing bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Russia, expanding economic and trade relations, and addressing regional issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Russian Special Representative noted that strengthening ties between the two countries would benefit Moscow, and thus, obstacles to the development of these relations have been removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He emphasized that on the sidelines of the Kazan summit, which is scheduled to be held in Russia next month (May), a special meeting will be held to launch a permanent bilateral commission between Afghanistan and Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
