KABUL: Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior Affairs, has rejected a report by the Financial Times alleging that he stated he has contacts with the defense and intelligence agencies of Russia, China, the U.S., and Europe.
In a statement released by the ministry, these claims were deemed baseless and far from the truth.
Qani emphasized that he has never made such statements nor have any official sources related to the Islamic Emirate published such information.
The statement described these allegations as part of a media conspiracy and a propaganda war against the Islamic Emirate, stating that the aim is to instill negative perceptions in the minds of the public, undermine trust, and question the political independence of the country.
The ministry’s statement also called on all media outlets to adhere to professional and ethical standards in reporting and to avoid disseminating false information.
