KABUL: According to Indian and Pakistani media, a police training center in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has come under attack by several armed individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Indian Express reported that the attack occurred on Friday night, and that the assault was initiated by 7 to 8 armed men following an explosion at the entrance gate of the police facility located in the “Dera Ismail Khan” valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although the clash between the attackers and Pakistani security forces lasted for several hours into the night, the casualty figures reported are inconsistent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some reports, citing security sources, claim that 50 Pakistani police personnel have been killed in the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Special police and army operations have been launched to contain the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, security and government officials in Pakistan have yet to provide statements regarding the attack or the number of casualties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
