PUL-E-KHUMRI: Two Pakistani citizens have been arrested on charges of robbery in Baghlan province, the province\u2019s police command said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Baghlan police, the individuals, including one woman, were apprehended in Pul-e-Khumri on charges of “chain theft” from jewelry stores in several provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statement stated that the arrested individuals had stolen jewelry from shops in Kabul, Parwan, and Baghlan over the past three days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Baghlan police reported that they had stolen jewelry valued at $6,000 from Kabul, jewelry worth 150,000 Afghanis from a jeweler in Parwan, and $300 from a currency exchange in Pul-e-Khumri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statement noted that some of the stolen gold and money had been recovered, and efforts to discover remaining stolen items and identify possible accomplices are ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the police chief of the first police district in Pul-e-Khumri, Mullah Abdul Waqil Ahmadi, the arrested individuals have confessed to their crimes during preliminary investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that these two Pakistani citizens had previously engaged in chain thefts in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iraq, China, Thailand, Iran, Dubai, Oman, and France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
