KABUL: Zalmay Khalilzad, former U.S. envoy for peace in Afghanistan, expressed disappointment over the stalled talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan in Turkey.
In a post on his X account he stated on Sunday that Pakistan must be realistic, as it has officially acknowledged that by harboring and supporting opposing groups, it has allowed hostile actions against Afghanistan.
He emphasized that the key point is that both countries must agree that no individual or group should be permitted to threaten the other country’s security.
The American diplomat urged mediators from both sides to encourage a commitment that no one would be allowed to use each other’s territory against each other.
