HERAT: The provincial officials of Herat confirmed that as a result of a traffic accident on the Herat-Kandahar highway at least 10 people lost their lives and 4 others were injured.
Qari Musbah, administrative manager of Zawal district in Herat, told Radio Omid that the incident occurred at 5:00 a.m. today, near the airport, while a Falankouch-type vehicle collided with a 302 passenger bus.
He added that the victims were occupants of the Falankouch, while the 302 passenger vehicle had only the driver on board.
He mentioned that the Falankouch was traveling from Daikundi to Herat, while the passenger vehicle was headed from Herat towards Kandahar, with the driver also losing his life in the incident.
Meanwhile, police officials in Herat have stated that investigation teams are on site to gather further details about the accident.
