{"id":17716,"date":"2026-01-06T12:02:29","date_gmt":"2026-01-06T12:02:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/omidradio.com\/en\/?p=17716"},"modified":"2026-01-06T12:02:29","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T12:02:29","slug":"solar-power-project-generating-22-75-mw-officially-inaugurated-at-band-e-naghlo-in-kabul","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/omidradio.com\/en\/2026\/01\/06\/solar-power-project-generating-22-75-mw-officially-inaugurated-at-band-e-naghlo-in-kabul\/","title":{"rendered":"Solar power project generating 22.75 MW officially inaugurated at Band-e-Naghlo in Kabul"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KABUL: A solar power project generating 22.75 megawatts at the &#8220;Band-e-Naghlo&#8221; site in the Surobi district of Kabul was officially inaugurated today, with an investment of $18 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Radio Omid, the project is recognized as the largest solar power project in the country, inaugurated on Tuesday, during a ceremony attended by high-ranking government officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, the CEO of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), stated during the opening ceremony that the project includes production, transmission to the substation, absorption, re-transmission, and distribution for consumer use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Omar mentioned that the completion and operation of the project will meet the energy needs of the residents of the Surobi district and parts of Kabul city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that addressing infrastructure issues is crucial, and this year alone, 5 billion Afghanis have been allocated for network improvements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Mawlavi Ahmad Jan Bilal, the General Director of State-owned Companies, stated that the completion of power generation projects will lead to the country\u2019s political and economic stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He noted that development projects are funded from the development budget of the Islamic Emirate and that there is no foreign support involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This comes at a time when investment in electricity generation projects in the country continues.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KABUL: A solar power project generating 22.75 megawatts at the &#8220;Band-e-Naghlo&#8221; site in the Surobi district of Kabul was officially inaugurated today, with an investment of $18 million.
