KABUL: Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, recently stated that Donald Trump’s threats of military action against Tehran due to the violent protests have led to “terrorists” targeting protesters and security forces in the country, according to Al Jazeera today.
Meanwhile, the Tasnim news agency, a state media outlet in Iran, reported early today that the government has declared three days of national mourning following the deaths of security personnel and several individuals involved in the “disturbances” over the past two weeks.
The death toll from the recent unrest and protests in Iran, as reported by both the government and opposition, contains conflicting figures.
Recently, the Iran Human Rights Organization (Hrana), based in the U.S., reported that 544 protesters have been killed during this period.
At the same time, Donald Trump stated early today in conversations with reporters that the U.S. military is considering military action against Iran.
