{"id":18318,"date":"2026-02-02T09:12:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-02T09:12:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/omidradio.com\/en\/?p=18318"},"modified":"2026-02-02T09:12:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-02T09:12:08","slug":"four-day-polio-vaccination-campaign-kicks-off-across-18-provinces","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/omidradio.com\/en\/2026\/02\/02\/four-day-polio-vaccination-campaign-kicks-off-across-18-provinces\/","title":{"rendered":"Four-day polio vaccination campaign kicks off across 18 provinces"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KABUL: Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Health Dr. Sharafat Zaman Amarkhail, in a video message said today that a four-day polio vaccination campaign has been launched across 18 provinces in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The campaign is set to run from February 2 to February 5, 2026 (13 to 16 Dalwa), and will cover approximately 7.3 million children under the age of five against the disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The vaccination campaign will take place in the provinces of Kabul, Nangarhar, Laghman, Kunar, Nuristan, Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Ghazni, Kandahar, Helmand, Uruzgan, Zabul, Balkh, Faryab, Kunduz, Herat, and Badghis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He emphasized that in the provinces of Kandahar, Helmand, Uruzgan, and Zabul, the campaign will begin one day later (on Tuesday) and will continue until Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Amarkhail urged religious scholars, community leaders, and family members to cooperate fully with vaccinators to ensure the success of the polio vaccination campaign and to achieve the desired goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Afghanistan remains one of only two countries in the world currently reporting positive polio cases.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KABUL: Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Health Dr. Sharafat Zaman Amarkhail, in a video message said today that a four-day polio vaccination campaign has been launched across 18 provinces in the country.
