KABUL: Saadi Sharifi, the Ambassador of Tajikistan in Kabul, has met with Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, to discuss bilateral relations, the ministry said in a statement today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the announcement, the Foreign Minister emphasized Afghanistan’s strong commitment to further expanding relations with Tajikistan, stating:\u201d No one can harm the friendly ties between Kabul and Dushanbe or the atmosphere of trust between the two sides.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mawlavi Muttaqi noted that Afghanistan and Tajikistan, as neighboring, brotherly, and Muslim countries, can optimally utilize emerging opportunities to enhance relations at all levels, especially in political, economic, and trade cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the Tajik Ambassador provided updates on the latest developments regarding previous agreements between Kabul and Dushanbe to the Foreign Minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the statement, Saadi Sharifi stated that Tajikistan has significant economic programs and projects planned along the shared border with a view to strengthening economic cooperation with the Afghan government, approaching these developments with goodwill and in consideration of current realities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the end of the meeting, both sides exchanged views on how to hold a joint economic committee, strengthen border and security cooperation, and the agenda of the Foreign Ministries of Afghanistan and Tajikistan for the upcoming year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
