KABUL: The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Mawlavi Hibatullah Akhundzada, has called on foreign countries not to interfere in the internal affairs of Afghanistan in a message marking Eid al-Fitr.
In the message released Monday by the Islamic Emirate spokesman\u2019s office, he congratulated Muslims in Afghanistan and around the world on the upcoming holiday and prayed for peace and prosperity.
He said the Islamic Emirate seeks to maintain strong relations with the Muslim world based on brotherhood and also wants constructive ties with other countries based on Islamic principles.
\u201cWe ask all sides to respect the beliefs and values of the Afghan people and not interfere in our internal affairs,\u201d the statement said.
The leader also said efforts by the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice had reduced corruption in Afghan society, adding that the IEA aims to eliminate it entirely.
Afghanistan now enjoys nationwide security after four decades of war and instability and urged citizens to support and protect the current Islamic system, he said calling on Afghans to strengthen unity and avoid ethnic, regional, and linguistic divisions during the Eid holidays.
The message further stressed the importance of reconstruction, education, and religious instruction, urging officials and citizens to contribute to rebuilding the country and expanding religious learning.
In addition, the leader called for assistance to Afghan migrants returning from other countries during the Eid period and condemned what he described as injustices against Muslims in different parts of the world.
Earlier, the IEA leader also ordered the release of hundreds of prisoners and reductions in the sentences of others ahead of the Eid holiday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
