KABUL: The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation of Afghanistan has warned that some bus drivers are putting passengers at risk by ignoring safety precautions during flash floods in the country.
In a statement, the ministry said certain drivers of large passenger vehicles attempt to cross fast-moving floodwaters without adequate caution, leading to serious incidents and, in some cases, casualties.
Officials added that such behaviors not only endanger lives but also cause fear among passengers.
The ministry urged drivers to closely monitor weather conditions, avoid crossing flooded roads, and strictly follow traffic regulations with priority given to passenger safety.
Passengers were also advised to check road and weather conditions before traveling, avoid high-risk routes, and postpone trips during dangerous conditions.
