KABUL: Global oil prices have climbed following renewed threats by Donald Trump against Iran, according to international media reports.
CNN reported early Monday that Brent crude, the global benchmark, rose by 1.4% to $110.60 per barrel, while U.S. crude increased by 1.8% to $113.60.
Analysts say the price surge reflects growing concerns about potential disruptions to energy supply, particularly in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
Some U.S. media outlets have also warned that rising jet fuel prices could lead to reduced flight operations among American airlines.
The increase follows Trump\u2019s strong warning about possible strikes on Iran\u2019s energy and civilian infrastructure. He also called for the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz after delaying a previously announced 48-hour deadline for potential action.
