KABUL: After the failure to reach an agreement in the U.S.-Iran talks in Islamabad, Pakistani, the two countries senior officials have disclosed the most significant point of disagreement between Washington and Tehran.
Al Jazeera reported early today, according to two senior Iranian officials and one U.S. official, that Iran is willing to accept a 5-year suspension of its uranium enrichment program, but Washington has rejected it and is insisting on a 20-year suspension.
Meanwhile, J.D. Vance, the U.S. vice president, who led the American delegation in the trilateral talks in Islamabad told Fox News that the \u201cball is in Iran\u2019s court\u201d right now.
Vance added: \u201cWe made it very clear. Look, these are things that we\u2019re willing to give, but these are things that we have to have. We have to remove the enriched material from Iran. We have to have their firm, concrete commitment that they won\u2019t pursue nuclear weapon development.\u201d
